Needy slaves
Maintenance or repair?

Hello. I hope everyone had a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.

The first question that comes to mind, are slaves needy? I believe the majority of them are. I would venture to say it's the nature of the roles they serve. Needy does not necessarily mean whining and constantly needing attention. I think that in this case needy applies to receiving acknowledgement and awareness of the service that they offer. Remember when we were kids in school? We would raise our hand to answer a question. When the teacher picked us to answer and we gave a good or correct answer the teacher would probably say "good job", "nice" or "excellent". Getting that positive reinforcement made the task of raising your hand and putting yourself out there worthwhile. I think the same applies to slaves. When a slave completes a task, acknowledge the job. If the job was done to your satisfaction, it's ok to say nice job or thank you. There's no point in being unappreciative. Thank you can go a long way. It's not something that needsto be said all the time. A little thank you can go a long way and save you a lot of repair time.

I also compare maintenance and repair to what Ford stands for. No, not found on road dead. The other one, fix or repair daily. (Sorry Ford owners). The notion of fix or repair daily is not far from the truth when it comes to slaves. I'm not saying you should be constantly be repairing and picking up the pieces of the slaves. Never the less daily tune-ups, in this case, a little praise and acknowledgement can go a long way. It's not easy for a (good) slave to give of themself to serve someone else. I think in order to keep their mindset focused on the service that we desire, Masters need to acknowledge the slaves and offer some positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcement breeds positive results.

We as Masters should not take our slaves for granted. We need to realize the importance of their place in our households and in our lives. After all, without slaves whom are we mastering? Oddly enough, ownership (in this case) equals a symbiotic relationship. One can't exist without the other.

It's imperative to not take away the core of the slave. This is not to say that we should not impose our will. Most certainly the master's wants and desiresshall and will come first. However, let the core of the slave exist. For example, barb is pagan. She was a pagan long before she knew me. She needs to practice her religion. It's part of what makes her tick. She needs to express herself through her religion. If I remove that core, barb will lose part of her self and this would not be a healthy part to lose. barb is also an artist, she needs to express her self through her art. Again, I should not take her core away from her. It's a delicate job to impose my will and keep her core alive. However, this time and effort is well spent. By making sure her core is intact, I can get the service that I need with out heavy repairs or meltdowns. Why? Because she feels confident that I'm watching out for her best interests. She's tuned up and taken care of. barb does not have that much free time for herself. But I do alot some hours during the week for her to tend to her core. Her core time is scheduled by me. She knows the time will be there for her and knowing that the time will be there allows her to continue on serving me and, if needed, other people too.
Service is also part of her core. I have now facilitated a complete individual.

These steps, efforts, and suggestions will not make life perfect. There will still be bumps in the road, there will still be melt downs. However, with any luck they will probably happen less often.

I try to remember that with ownership comes responsibility. My biggest responsibility is to keep my slave well maintained, tuned up and healthy. If I can get her to run more like a Mercedes than a Ford then I am well on my way to the household that I'm trying to build.

Our contract clearly states that she is free to leave slavery at anytime. It's incumbent on me to make sure the slave is taken care of, maintained, tuned up, and wants to stay. In the long run, that benefits me.

Now it's time for you to stand up and shout. Please feel free to post and comment.

I look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday June 6th.

Stay well and be safe.
